Welcome to the 2nd Trimester!

We are 15 weeks today! Our baby is the size of an apple (4 inches long, 2 1/2 ounces).  The baby's legs and arms are starting to catch up to the rest of the body, and even though he/she hasn't opened its eyes yet, he/she still has a sensitivity to light.

(I find all of this infomation very fascinating! Information courstesy of babycenter.com)

This picture of me and Baby D's Nonni was taken at 14 weeks 5 days.
If you look closely, you can see the bloat that is my belly :)

WEEKLY UPDATE
How far along? 15 weeks - officially two weeks in to the second trimester
Total weight gain: up 1 whole pound :)
Maternity clothes? a few pair of leggings (thank goodness for Gap Maternity!), otherwise I'm wearing my normal clothes, just with a belly band for my pants

Stretch marks? none yet
Sleep: back to my normal routine of 8-9 hours each night, vs 10-11 in the first trimester

Best moment this week: getting to tell everyone we are pregnant! not a secret anymore
Miss Anything?: cheese (don't get me wrong, I still love Cheddar and Parmesean), but I would love some Brie and other specialty cheeses right now. A glass of wine with it wouldnt be bad either
Movement: haven't felt any yet, not even the "flutters", but I should feel some in a few weeks
Food cravings: Cereal with Fruit, cheddar cheese, hardboiled eggs, and PICKLES! can't get enough pickles
Anything making you queasy or sick: still don't want a lot of meat, but the site of chicken doesnt disgust me anymore.

Gender: Not finding out and couldnt be more excited!
Symptoms: overall feeling great! I find it uncomfortable to lay on my stomach at all, but I might as well get used to that
Belly Button in or out? in
Wedding rings on or off? on

Happy or Moody most of the time: Had a roller coaster of emotions this week due to other things (mom's surgery)... but so very happy to have a healthy little one growing in me
Looking forward to: feeling the baby move for the first time!! looking pregnant rather than bloated

13 Weeks

How far along? 13 Weeks - last week of the first trimester!
Total weight gain: up 1 whole pound :)
Maternity clothes? one pair of leggings, otherwise I'm wearing my normal clothes, just with a belly band for my pants

Stretch marks? none yet
Sleep: Can't get enough of it! Most nights Dave has to wake me up from the couch and send me off to bed at 9:00pm.

Best moment this week: hearing our little ones heart beat on the doppler at our appointment today
Miss Anything? Not at that point yet.  I'm (we) just so ecstatic that we have a healthy, energetic baby
Movement: haven't felt any yet, but our Doctor told us the baby was kicking today (she could hear it on the doppler) and at our appointment last week, we saw the baby flipping on the ultrasound.  Can't wait until I can feel him/her moving around
Food cravings: Fruit and Cereal!
Anything making you queasy or sick: still meat - sure hope this goes away!
Gender: Not finding out
Symptoms: overall feeling pretty great, other than lots of bloating.
Belly Button in or out? in
Wedding rings on or off? on
Happy or Moody most of the time: Had a roller coaster of emotions this week... but so very happy.
Looking forward to: the second trimester.  Finally telling everyone we are expecting.  Showing for real, rather than looking like I ate too many sweets after dinner

Happy Day, Sad Day

Today is a bitter sweet day for us.  It would have been my due date if our first Little One had made it.  However, as sad as we are to not be holding our first Little One this Spring, we are ecstatic that our Ultrasound appointment and screening went fantastic last night.  We were both nervous going in to the appointment, because it was this appointment last time that we got the heartwrenching news that our baby had not survived.  This time was so very different.  Our Little One was moving all around and doing flips, but the ultrasound technician was able to get a few great shots.  We have a few profile shots, one of the baby's arm, and one of the baby's leg.  The two pictures posted are from my first ultrasound, done at 8 weeks 5 days, and this ultrasound, done at 12 weeks 5 days.  It is amazing how much they change in just 4 short weeks.  The baby is already the size of a lime, and weighs over an ounce. Next week, it will have developed its fingerprints.

Baby Danielson EDD 09.17.2012

David and I are expecting! Little baby Danielson is due September 17, 2012. We found out while we were cruising in Mexico in January. I thought it would be too soon to take a test, but sure enough, we got a positive! We found out on Friday, January 6. I couldnt believe we had gotten a positive so soon! It was the perfect way to ring in the new year. So far, everything with this pregnancy has been pretty easy. Aside from a bit of nausea in the first few weeks (weeks 6 - 10), and an aversion to meat in general (weird I know), it has been smooth sailing. We had our first appt with our OB on January 26th and she confirmed our due date to be 09.17.2012. We have our next appointment on Thursday with a Perinatologist since I am considered high risk (because we lost our little one last pregnancy at 15 weeks). I will admit we are still "cautiously optomistic" this time around, but our faith, love, and support of everyone around us is keeping us strong.

I can't wait to keep everyone updated on the latest as it happens for us. Right now, we are 12.5 weeks and the baby is the size of a lime (my favorite!)
